Varsity Basketball Scores Liberty League Upset Win

The Archer School for Girls took over first place in the Liberty League on Tuesday, January 17, at Santa Monica College with a 50-42 upset win over the league's dominant team, Providence High School.
Archer sharpshooting Dani R. '18 led the way, scoring a season-high 27 points. It was Archer’s first victory in basketball over Providence, snapping a five-game losing streak that spanned four seasons.

Since the 2010 season, Providence has won seven straight league championships and compiled a 51-5 record in league. Archer, 2-0 in league and on a three-game winning streak, will continue league play this week with games at AGBU (Canoga Park) on Wednesday and Holy Martyr’s (Encino) on Thursday.
