Academic Program
With nearly 150 courses, including 14 Advanced Placement classes, Archer’s curriculum seeks to challenge and inspire. Students are expected to develop and hone strong critical thinking skills and an appreciation for the importance of an intellectual life. While the immediate goal is a strong foundation for success in college, an Archer education gives students the skills to make sound and reasoned decisions in their academic, professional and personal lives.
The Archer School for Girls offers an academically    challenging program, one that is integrated, innovative and balanced.
Understanding that girls thrive on making connections, between people and between disciplines, Archer promotes those links from the start. The curriculum teaches that art, literature, music, language, science, history and math form a complex matrix, one that enhances students’ knowledge of the world. In an increasingly global society, Archer students have the advantage of seeing an integrated, rather than compartmentalized world. Combining the scholastic, the creative, the original and the traditional methods of study, Archer sets the course for a habit of life-long learning.

Fundamental to Archer’s program is the commitment that girls have time to process and reflect on their studies, time to find passions outside the academic realm, time to connect with family and friends and time to ensure a healthy lifestyle. We do not believe rigor and balance are mutually exclusive. While Archer students are encouraged to push themselves to high levels of scholarship, it is never at the expense of their happiness.
