2019: Dr. Belinda Tan

Having spent her formative medical training years in the Los Angeles County public health system, she remains committed to improving access to quality healthcare and continues to teach medical students and residents. She co-founded Science 37, a telemedicine clinical research service that has raised over $100M in venture capital with the mission to accelerate biomedical research by putting the patient first. Prior to Science 37, she and physician friends built the nationally scaled teledermatology organization DirectDerm, whose services have improved health outcomes throughout central California. Belinda trained in dermatology and dermatopathology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospital. She earned her M.D. and Ph.D. from UCLA and Bachelor of Science from MIT.
