Upper School Robotics Advances to FIRST Tech Challenge Los Angeles Regional Championship

The Upper School Robotics team received a Connect Award and was part of an alliance that earned second place overall at the interleague FIRST Tech Challenge tournament in Palmdale, Calif. the weekend of Saturday, February 16.
Called The Muses, Archer's team inspired judges with a remote-controlled robot that could complete a series of tasks within the Rover Ruckus theme. Following this victory, the team was one of 18 teams that advanced to the Los Angeles Regional Championship. The Connect Award recognizes teams for connecting the dots between the community, FIRST, and the diversity of the engineering world. "A true FIRST team is more than a sum of its parts and recognizes that engaging their local STEM community plays an essential part in their success," the FIRST Tech Challenge website says.
