Mia Ronn Wins National Poetry Out Loud Contest

Congratulations to Mia R. ’23 for being named the 2022 Poetry Out Loud National Champion. On a virtual stage, Mia wowed judges with her recitations of poetry by Kara Jackson, Victor Hernández Cruz, and Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib.
Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that hosts a dynamic recitation competition for high school students. To become National Champion, Mia had to first make it through county, state, and semi-finalist competitions. In the 17 years of the Poetry Out Loud competition, Mia is the first-ever California State Champion to win first place nationally.
