Arts Students Receive National Accolades in the 2018 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

The following students have earned national recognition in the 2018 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.

  • Rose S. '18, Silver Medal (Studio Art)
  • Sophia F. '19, Silver Medal (Photography)
These students have been identified by panels of creative professionals as the most talented young artists in the nation. This year, nearly 350,000 works were submitted and less than the top 1% were recognized at the national level. 

Gold medalist Gemma has been invited to attend a national ceremony at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, June 7. Her artwork that will be showcased in New York City at Parsons School of Design and Pratt Institute in June. Her work will also be included in Art.Write.Now. 2018-2019 National Exhibition Tour in various cities all around the country starting October. After the tour, there will be two more exhibitions in Washington, D.C. at the U.S. Department of Education and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Additionally, 40 students in Visual Arts have won 60 Regional Gold, Silver and Honorable Mention Awards.
