Student STEM Symposium

Archer’s annual Student STEM Symposium’s mission is to empower and celebrate young women in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in Los Angeles. We provide a platform for showcasing their independent or small group projects to peers, educators, and industry professionals. Our goal is to inspire, motivate, and amplify the voices of the next generation of female STEM leaders, breaking barriers and fostering a supportive community that promotes diversity and innovation.
 
We invite any high school female students or teams of female students who have completed independent research to present at the event (see details below). Any interested parties are invited to attend; this includes but is not limited to peers, family, teachers, and STEM professionals. Presenters and attendees will have an opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and learn about advanced STEM research.
 
The event will include a poster session and formal presentations from female students from Los Angeles area high schools, a keynote address, and recognition of the 2024 Research in Science and Engineering (RISE) Scholars.

Participate in the 2024 Student STEM Symposium

Are you a high school female student or team of students that has completed independent research in a STEM discipline? If so, please join us at the 2024 Student STEM Symposium.

Poster Session

All participants will be able to present their research during the poster session. In order to participate, please complete this form by Monday, April 22, 2024. All students who submit this form will have space for their poster (36"x24") at the Student STEM Symposium. Students will have the opportunity to stand by their poster and present their research to all interested parties. 

RISE Scholar Awards

In addition to presenting a poster, you are invited to apply for the RISE Scholar Award
 
The RISE Scholar Award recognizes exceptional young female STEM scholars in the Los Angeles Area for their commitment to innovative scientific research or engineering and design projects.      

The 12 RISE Award Scholars will be honored at the Archer Student STEM Symposium, present their research in a 15-minute presentation, and receive a $300 stipend. Recipients will be notified by Friday, May 3, 2024. Awards will be paid to the student’s educational institution of choice to cover costs of tuition and fees for the following year. If the winning project is completed by more than one student, the award will be equally split among students.
