Transportation

Archer Forward takes The Archer School for Girls' model transportation management program to a new level. The transportation management plan, which encompasses bus ridership, carpooling, and limits on the number of vehicles coming to campus for special events and interscholastic athletic competitions, is the most stringent transportation program for any school, public or private, in the City of Los Angeles. This reflects Archer’s continuing commitment to addressing the transportation challenges along the Sunset Corridor in West Los Angeles.

Event Parking & Transportation Management Plan

The City’s approval of Archer Forward includes strict protocols to ensure compliance with the detailed trip caps. These protocols are part of the Transportation Management Plan required by Councilmember Bonin and contained within the City approval of Archer Forward. These protocols include:

List of 5 items.

  • Parking Reservation System for Interscholastic Athletic Competitions and Special Events

Archer is required to develop and implement an event parking and transportation plan that includes a parking reservation system. This requires the issuance of a maximum number of parking permits for each event and athletic competition, according to the trip caps under the City’s approval. Guests seeking to attend an interscholastic athletic competition or special event without a parking reservation (this includes vehicles, carpools, shuttles) or a walking pass, bicycle pass, or transit pass will be denied access to the campus. This plan will include additional measures, such as attendant-assisted parking, off-site parking and shuttles, and temporary increases in traffic management and parking personnel as needed.
  • Off-Site Parking Restrictions

There will be no off-site parking for special events or athletic competitions on surrounding streets or in the Brentwood Village parking lot. This will be enforced by only allowing pre-approved students, faculty, or staff having walking pass, bicycle pass or transit pass to walk onto the campus for special events or interscholastic athletic competitions.
  • Use of Off-Site Shuttles

Locations cannot include surrounding streets or the Brentwood Village public parking lot.
  • Traffic Counts and Reporting, and Parking Reservation System Survey

The covenant with the BHA and RNA includes additional monitoring, reporting, and enforcement in addition to what already exists in Archer’s CUP, which ensures Archer is adhering to trip limitations.
  • Comprehensive Construction-Related Traffic Requirements and Restrictions

During construction, Archer will work hard to minimize any impacts in our neighborhood. We will restrict hours, access, and parking for all construction-related vehicles. We will impose stringent noise, dust, and air quality control procedures. A Construction Relations Liaison will keep our neighbors informed about construction schedules and serve as a single point of contact for the Brentwood community.
The Archer School for Girls admits students of any race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin, sexual orientation or other legally protected status to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin, sexual orientation or other legally protected status in its hiring or in the administration of its educational policies and programs, admissions policies, financial aid programs or other school-administered programs.

The Archer School for Girls’ mission is to educate students in an environment specifically designed for girls. As such, the school will consider any candidate for admission who identifies as a girl. Once admitted to Archer, all students in good academic standing who abide by Archer’s code of conduct and who meet requirements for graduation will be eligible to receive an Archer diploma, regardless of any change in sexual identity or other legally protected status.
