Learning Services

Archer's Learning Services offers a constellation of personalized programs and opportunities to strengthen students’ approach to learning. From structured support for students with diagnosed learning differences to peer tutoring and executive functioning training, Learning Services meets students where they are and empowers them with the skills, tools, and habits of mind to meet their goals.
PowerHour: Peer Tutoring
Archer’s PowerHour Peer Tutoring Program is open to all students for personalized coaching in organizational skills, study strategies, test prep, and homework completion. Trained Upper School peer tutors are partnered with students in grades 6-12, Monday-Thursday after school.

Masterminds: FLX Block Class
This FLX Block program is designed specifically for students in 6th-8th grade to help students gain executive functioning skills needed in Middle School and beyond. Held weekly, each session introduces and offers practice in a new skill or learning tool, including avoiding procrastination, note-taking, summarizing, annotating, and developing organizational systems.

Study With Me: Supervised School Day Study Time
This FLX Block offers Middle School students dedicated study time with a learning specialist in the Library. Learning specialists offer 1:1 or small group academic support and executive functioning coaching.

Write Fever: Archer’s Writing Lab
Write Fever is a fun and interactive space for students to build and practice their writing skills. Offered during FLX Block, interested Middle School students can work through the writing process with an Archer English teacher and review writing challenges across the curriculum. Students also have the opportunity to write creatively, start their own writing project, or review feedback on assignments to incorporate in their future drafts.

Math Café & Math Lab
Math Café is a working hub for Middle School students to receive additional math support while enjoying a mug of hot cocoa or tea. Math Lab is the equivalent for Upper School mathematicians. Offered during FLX Block, Archer Math teachers host sessions to strengthen foundational math skills, practice competencies, and work through current content from class. Students enjoy reveling in math while building confidence and proficiency.
