From the Admissions Director

In 1995, Dr. Diana Meehan, Megan Callaway and Victoria Shorr, all graduates of girls’ schools, were determined to find a single-sex learning environment for their daughters. After canvassing metropolitan Los Angeles for a school that could offer what they were seeking, these three visionary women decided to take matters into their own hands.

With courage and perseverance, the founders opened The Archer School for Girls in a converted dance studio with just thirty-three middle school students. Three decades later, Archer has exceeded our founders’ own high expectations of what the school could become.

Now, in 2025, Archer’s tremendous growth to 500 students on a seven-acre historic Sunset Boulevard campus is a testament to the school’s role as a leader in girls’ schools nationwide. The founders’ basic premise - that girls thrive in a learning environment of their own - is absolutely true. Our research-based, boundary-pushing curriculum inspires girls to pursue their brilliance. We offer every girl the opportunity to explore her edges and find that crucial intersection of passion and purpose.

Alongside achieving scholarly and extracurricular excellence, Archer girls are taught how to navigate the realities and challenges of the greater world. Our graduates are equipped to compete and lead with empathy, to excel without apology. They explore, experiment, take purposeful risks, fail and recalibrate on their terms. We prepare our graduates to learn and live fearlessly and joyfully beyond the walls of Archer.

I invite you to explore our school with the hope that, just as the founders once did, you will find that Archer is a place where your daughter can flourish. We look forward to celebrating our 30th anniversary with you.
