Please provide a quote about your Archer experience. Archer has shaped me into the person I am today. Not only have the people I have met changed my outlook on life, but the discussions I have participated in have also changed the way I see the world.
What new passion or interest did you discover while at Archer? At Archer, I discovered my interest in ceramics. I decided to take ceramics as my second-semester art class in eighth grade and quickly fell in love with it. I enjoyed how there were so many different ways to create pieces from a simple slab of clay. We learned how to use a variety of tools to hand-build pieces, and toward the end of the semester, we also learned how to use the wheel. I valued this experience because it gave me the opportunity to expand my artistic skills and discover something that I am now passionate about.
Which Archer tradition or activity do you look forward to each school year? The Archer tradition I look forward to most each year is the Spirit Dance competition. I enjoy it because it gives me the chance to bond with friends through dance while adding a fun competitive element. What I love most, though, is the support from the Archer community on the day of the performances. Each grade comes together to cheer on the dancers and celebrate one another. Even if my grade does not win, I still leave feeling accomplished and grateful to be part of such an uplifting community.
