Why did you and your parents decide to attend Archer? My parents and I chose to enroll at Archer because we loved the dynamic teaching and opportunities for collaboration in classrooms. During our tour, we noticed how both students and teachers were thoughtful and intentional in their interactions. We appreciated the strong sense of community, and I saw myself becoming a reliable and engaged member of it. Archer’s values around diversity, equity, and inclusion also resonated with us. We felt connected to the way the school emphasizes respecting every person, regardless of their background. Lastly, hearing my older sister, who graduated in 2024, excitedly tell me about her day after school, made me certain that I wanted to attend Archer as well.

What new passion or interest did you discover while at Archer? I discovered my passion for journalism while at Archer. On the first day of "Intro to Journalism," I embarked on a journey of discovery, curiosity, and collaborative learning. Once I found my way to Room 148, what I now know as the publication lab, I sat down in my chair and turned to greet my classmates. I listened intently as Ms. Taylor taught us all about the First Amendment, current events, The Oracle itself, and our mission as student journalists. After participating in many lessons in this class, I began to grow a passion for journalism. Learning about the purpose of journalism in a democratic society, press freedom, photojournalism, and different styles of journalistic writing was so interesting and really spoke to me. From then on, I knew journalism was a passion I wanted to pursue. Now, after three years in journalism, I will be the co-Editor-in-Chief next year — I am so excited!

Which Archer tradition or activity do you look forward to each school year? Night of Dance has been my favorite time of year every year since I joined Archer in 6th grade. I have always been so passionate about dance, and getting to dance with my friends and participate in this show that tells a story means so much to me.
