pHantastic Showing at L.A. County Science and Engineering Fair
Read MoreThis year, Archer students showcased a whopping 24 projects at the 2024 L.A. County Science and Engineering Fair (LACSEF) and came home with 23 awards. Read all the project descriptions and see the list of award recipients. Of those students, eight have been selected to represent Archer at the CA State Science Fair on Tuesday, April 16: Ella T. ’27, Finley V. ’26, Skylar R. ’26, Kate R. ’28 and Nika H. ’29, Jackie M. ’28, Farah S. ’28, Maya K. ’29, and Jaya S. ’28.Ella T. ’27 is the first ever Archer student to qualify for ISEF, the International Science and Engineering Fair. Ella will compete at ISEF from Saturday, May 11 - Friday, May 17, amongst students from all over the world.

Kate Berlant '05 and Samy Burch '05 Return to Alma Mater for Archer Film Festival

The talented Archer alumnae will participate in the thirteenth annual Archer Film Festival on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Writers Guild Theater at 7:00 p.m., using their success to inspire young, underrepresented voices in the world of film.

Archer Literary Magazine Turns ‘Salt’ into Gold at Columbia Scholastic Press Association
Read MoreThe Columbia Scholastic Press Association awarded Archer’s literary arts magazine, Pillars of Salt, the gold medal for its Winter 2023 issue, “Liminal.” Pillars of Salt features the art and writing of Archer students, but perhaps more importantly, it gives the student editorial staff absolute ownership of procurement and production at every stage. Under the leadership of Co-Editors-in-Chief Coco Greene ’23, Zoe Griffin ’23, and Rachel Heyman ’23, students on the magazine staff conceptualized a theme, advertised to solicit submissions, designed the layout, and edited the content. Ms. Keelty, faculty adviser to the literary magazine, noted, “I'm thrilled that these Archer students have been recognized for their hard work and dedication. This was great news!”

Archer Welcomes Students from Across L.A. for 16th Annual Literary Conference
Read MoreOn Friday, March 8, Archer presented its 16th annual student literary conference, Lit &... The conference brought together students from high schools across Los Angeles, who gathered in the Tia Palermo Library to share their creative writing and works of literary and cultural analysis. The conference leadership team moderated Q&A discussions for five panels grouped by theme: Into This World, Author[ity], Lenses on Language and Lit, Girlhood, and Mind Readers. People unable to attend in person were able to tune in to a live steam of the conference, where Archer was represented through the works of Lilly D. ’24, Guinevere H. ’24, Camila B. ’24, Piper P. ’24, Siena F. ’25, and Ella G. ’24. There’s No Debate About It: Archer Dominates at Speech and Debate Tournament
Read MoreArcher’s Speech and Debate Team came in victorious at the WBFL League Speech Tournament at University High School on Saturday, February 10. Several Archer students competed, with two of them bringing home first place ribbons.Allie Y. ’25 placed #1 in Impromptu and Shae K. ’27 placed #1 in Original Oratory. Both Allie and Shae received #1 rankings across the board for their 3 rounds!

Maia A. ’24 Brings ‘JOY’ to Archer as Southern California Journalist of the Year
Read MoreMaia A. ’24 is the first Archer student journalist to participate in JEA's extremely competitive California Journalist of the Year contest, which is only open to seniors. Competing students created websites that showcased their substantial journalism portfolios. The sites were ranked by a panel of three judges. Maia placed third in the entire state of California, and first in Southern California.

Selah J. ’26 Places as First Runner-Up in LA Poetry Out Loud Competition
Read MoreOn Thursday, February 1, Selah J. ’26 placed as the first runner-up in the L.A. County Poetry Out Loud, where she was the youngest of the top ten contestants! Representing Archer in its fourth year of participating in the competition, Selah performed amongst over 1,300 students from across Los Angeles County. Selah’s powerful and moving performances of "American Smooth" by Rita Dove and "Black Matters" by Keith S. Wilson were judged for the competition, with the latter poem recited live last night.

2023 Music Video Strikes Gold at Brilliance Awards
Read MoreArcher’s 2023 Raise Your Paddle video won first place gold in the Fundraising Video Outsourced category of Inspired School Marketers’ Brilliance Awards. The video featured an array of students on Archer’s campus set to a version of Ingrid Michaelson’s “Pretty” arranged by Piper Rutman ’23, performed by the Unaccompanied Minors, and choreographed by Georgia Ehrlich ’23 and performed by Archer dancers. Choral Director Hannah O’Connor and Middle School Director Reed Farley ideated and executed the video, with assistance from the Advancement and Communications Departments.

The Archer School for Girls admits students of any race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin, sexual orientation or other legally protected status to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin, sexual orientation or other legally protected status in its hiring or in the administration of its educational policies and programs, admissions policies, financial aid programs or other school-administered programs.
The Archer School for Girls’ mission is to educate students in an environment specifically designed for girls. As such, the school will consider any candidate for admission who identifies as a girl. Once admitted to Archer, all students in good academic standing who abide by Archer’s code of conduct and who meet requirements for graduation will be eligible to receive an Archer diploma, regardless of any change in sexual identity or other legally protected status.
