‘Pillars of Salt’ Wins All Columbian Award

The Spring 2019 issue of Pillars of SaltArcher’s literary arts magazine, won a Gold Medal and All Columbian Award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in September.
The magazine does not just feature the work of Archer students; it gives the girls absolute ownership of its production in every stage. “Students conceptualize a theme, advertise to solicit submissions, produce original art and writing, design the layout, and edit the content. The final product is a beautiful reflection of the young women in the Creative Writing class as well as their sisters in the community who read, write, create, submit, and support the publication,” said Ms. Bergen, who teaches Creative Writing and advises Pillars of SaltRead the magazine
