California Lieutenant Governor, Ambassador Eleni Kounalakis to Deliver 2025 Commencement Address at The Archer School for Girls

The Archer School for Girls is proud to announce that Lieutenant Governor of California, Ambassador Eleni Kounalakis, will serve as the 2025 Commencement speaker. A distinguished public servant, accomplished diplomat, and a steadfast champion for women's leadership, Ambassador Kounalakis will address Archer’s graduating Class of 2025 during the ceremony to be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Skirball Cultural Center.
Ambassador Eleni Kounalakis is the 50th Lieutenant Governor of California and the first woman elected to the office. From 2010 to 2013, Kounalakis served President Barack Obama as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Hungary. Prior to her service, Kounalakis spent 18 years as an executive at one of California’s most respected housing development firms, AKT Development. She is serving her second term after being reelected in 2022 and has announced her candidacy for Governor in 2026.

Throughout her career, she has championed access to education, gender equity, and civic engagement, causes that deeply resonate with Archer’s mission of inspiring girls to become bold, ethical leaders.
In her commencement address, Ambassador Kounalakis is expected to share reflections on leadership, resilience, and the importance of civic responsibility as the Class of 2025 prepares to step confidently into the world.
