XPRIZE

The Archer XPRIZE Challenge is a competition to design innovative solutions to food sustainability issues. A total of 139 students (39 teams) accepted the challenge and used Archer’s exploratory X-Block period to investigate issues surrounding growing food, getting it to the table, and managing food waste. Students heard from experts in each field (growing, getting, and garbage) before launching into their research and concept development. The teams were judged on the use of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) skills, creativity, and feasibility.
