Application Process

The Admissions Committee considers many factors when evaluating an applicant, including the required application components and, beyond that, what it would be like to have her join our community.

A student’s application gives the Committee a complete picture - her strengths, interests, and personal qualities. We seek families that will support and uphold the mission of the School and students who are best suited for our program and who we believe will contribute positively to our community.

Archer's online application process is designed to be clear and simple. Once you create an online account, a comprehensive checklist and directions ensure that you don't miss a deadline or forget to submit important paperwork. An application summary can be found below.

List of 7 items.

  • Online Application

The application process at Archer is fully digital with all forms and information submitted online. Once your application is submitted, a detailed checklist will be provided in your application portal to track the status of your application components.

Archer reserves the right to evaluate an application and render a final decision even if all components have not been received.
  • Admissions Interview

Applicants who submit their application and application fee on or before November 11, 2025, will be guaranteed an interview.

Interviews will be granted on a space-available basis to families who submit their applications between November 12, 2025, and the application deadline of
    December 11, 2025.

Instructions for interview scheduling will be shared once your application is received.

Archer will begin interviewing families in October and conclude at the end of January. Hour-long interview appointments will take place on campus Monday through Friday mornings. The visit will include a campus tour led by a student ambassador. Students and parents/guardians will also have separate conversations with an admissions officer.
  • Writing and Mathematics Exercises

We believe in the unique possibility and potential of every girl who applies to The Archer School for Girls. An important tenet of Archer’s mission is to create a diverse and inclusive student body that reflects the face of Greater Los Angeles. To promote access and evaluate applicants based solely on their academic record and talents, the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is not a requirement in the admissions process at Archer. Archer will not accept applicants' ISEE scores or other standardized test scores.

All applicants will be required to complete writing and mathematics exercises. At the conclusion of the interview appointment, the Admissions Office will provide a sealed packet that will include a writing prompt and a mathematics worksheet. Both exercises are to be completed at home with a parent/guardian proctoring. Please note that each exercise will have a 30-minute time limit and no advanced preparation is necessary.
  • Required Recommendations

For your reference, the required recommendation forms are listed below, organized by applying grade. Recommendation requests are sent via the application portal directly to the teacher or administrator. Please note that the process is slightly different for 6th grade applicants.

    Applicants to 6th Grade
    1. Elementary School Teacher Recommendation: This form is to be completed by your daughter's current elementary school teacher.
    2. Administrator Recommendation: This form is to be completed by the Head of School, Principal, or an authorized administrator from your daughter's current school.

Applicants to 7th Grade and Above
    1. English Teacher Recommendation: This form is to be completed by your daughter's current year English teacher.
    2. Math Teacher Recommendation: This form is to be completed by your daughter's current year math teacher.
    3. Administrator Recommendation: This form is to be completed by the Head of School, Principal, or an authorized administrator from your daughter's current school.

Recommendations should be completed after November 1, 2025, but no later than January 9, 2026.

Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD) or Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD): Archer waives teacher and school recommendations for all candidates enrolled in BHUSD or SMMUSD schools to reflect the district policy that teachers do not provide student recommendations for independent school applicants.
  • Transcripts

A complete and official transcript for the 2023-2024, 2024-2025, and 2025-2026 academic years should be sent directly from your daughter's school to Archer by January 9, 2026.

    The transcript should include:
    • All grades and evaluations
    • Information regarding attendance records; and disciplinary reports if applicable
A transcript request form will be available for download from the application portal.
  • Optional Day Visit for Applicant Student

We offer Day Visits for students once their admissions application has been received by the Admissions Office. The optional event allows applicants to experience Archer during the school day. Please note that participation in the Day Visit is optional and will not impact admissions decisions. Spaces are limited.

During the visit, your daughter will observe two classes alongside a current student and enjoy a complimentary lunch. Day Visits are scheduled on select dates, with approximate drop-off at 9:00 a.m. and pick-up at 1:00 p.m. Appointments are required and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Visits will run from late October through early February.

The Day Visit request form is available under Optional Steps in your application portal.
  • For Sibling Applicants

Archer understands the benefits of having all daughters in the same family attending the School. However, what is right for one child may not necessarily be the correct placement for her sister.

A sibling applicant will be accepted based on the Admissions Committee's determination that the student will be successful at Archer. A sibling's admission to Archer is not guaranteed. It is recommended that all families apply to other schools. Sibling applicants should apply by October 8, 2025.
