"Aside from my personal passion of math, I became a teacher to challenge and inspire students. I want students to feel like they had a supportive adult who cares about them and values their education. At Archer, I am able to provide a more equitable and safe environment for student to learn. I can invite students from all levels to engage and interact with math. I have grown a lot from the little time that I have been here. I am more creative in my lesson plans by incorporating technology and discussions and I am more thoughtful of the problems I use to assess my students and their growth."
The professional development I have been able to attend both at and beyond Archer has guided me toward a more student-centered classroom where I set high expectations and mold my lessons to fit the needs of the students.
