Alumni Board Present Leadership Panels
On Tuesday, September 13, and Wednesday, September 14, the Archer Alumni Board presented the first two of four Leadership Panels for the 2022-2023 school year. The panels gave students the opportunity to hear from women in leadership across industries.
This first panel for Middle School students featured Archer alumni business owners and entrepreneurs Jenny Blumenfield ’06 (artist, designer, and curator), Allie Davis ’07 (licensed speech-language pathologist), Sofi Newmyer ’06 (Founder and Designer, Ma’am Shoes), and Aisha Mainwairing ’17 (Founder, Main Design). The alumni speakers shared their experiences and expertise, reflected on their time at Archer, and offered insights into the challenges of being a business owner.
During the second panel, Upper School students had the opportunity to learn about careers in tech. Una Fox (Chief Data and Analytics Officer, Aristocrat Technologies), Nadia Ghassemi (Head of Audio Partnerships in Google's Global Ads division), Dominique Greene ’01 (Consulting Partner Account Manager at Amazon Web Services), Saira Rahman (VP of New Investor Initiatives at Fundrise), and Maddi Stein (Aeronautical Engineer, Lockheed Martin Skunk Works) spoke with students about what led them into STEM and offered advice about opportunities in fintech and technology-related fields. The panelists discussed what accomplishments they were most proud of and emphasized the importance of passion, confidence, and learning from your mistakes.
