Meet the Guidance Team
Mr. Ivan Hauck
Director of College Guidance
Ivan Hauck grew up in Southern California and has lived and worked in the United States (California, Massachusetts, and Texas), Italy and England before returning home. He has spent his entire career in education, primarily as a counselor, but also as a tutor, mentor, coach, teacher, advisor, and administrator. He has worked in both high schools and universities, and is dedicated towards supporting all students in the exciting transition. He has served as an external reader for UC Berkeley and UCLA. He believes deeply in experiential education: he's never found a mountain that he didn't want to climb, a body of water he didn't want to test, or a piece of food he didn't want to try. His curiosity has taken him through over 250 colleges and universities in over 80 countries but he is most content working within the creative confines of a school, interacting with fun, professional colleagues and considering the myriad of life opportunities that await each teenager.

Mr. Hauck is a proud alumnus of UC Berkeley, where he studied Sociology and minored in Education. He also earned a master's degree in Counseling and Student Affairs at the University of San Diego, and a Nonprofit Management Certificate from Northeastern University while he was working with AmeriCorps.

Ms. Marla Terry
College Guidance Associate

Marla Terry has been a long-time resident of Los Angeles, initially arriving here in the midst of a 15-year, international fashion career. In 2010, Ms. Terry shifted her professional goals and sought a service-centered profession, which led to her first job in education as the Admissions Assistant at Westside Neighborhood School (DK-8th grade). It was there that Ms. Terry discovered her true passion for helping families navigate the admissions process, and in the summer of 2014, she joined Archer's College Guidance team. Since then, Ms. Terry has found great joy in supporting Archer's 9-12th grade families and counselors through the ever-evolving college process and acts as Archer's liaison to One Schoolhouse, Compass Education Group, the College Board, NCAA, and the California Student Aid Commission. Ms. Terry is also a proud Archer alumni parent (Class of 2023), which brings a unique perspective to her work with students and families alike. When Ms. Terry isn't at Archer, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, thrifting, and planning future travel.
